I personally find very little to critique for improvements in this image. All i can do is tell you why i find it so mesmerizing.

Firstly the model. Excellent work. Her gaze is penetrating and intense, yet her expression and posture nonchalent; the pose bored even. We are certainly drawn in to her and wonder what she is thinking. It could be a (very well done) candid shot of a model hanging around waiting to be called on set.

The colours are beautifully balanced and subtle, perfectly complementing each other, the lighting equisite, and i really like the landscape view used in portraits. it almost makes the subject into a landscape itself. The smoke trails could be a little stronger but it's also nice to see a smoking image without the emphasis on that.

The only thing i would suggest possibly having changed is the background. The out of focus object right behind her draws slight attention away and unbalances the frame, but not so much to detract from the main focus. Perhaps if it had been more to the left in the centre of the black background, and i would have liked to see a little more of the bottom of the image; maybe just showing more of her wrist. But as i said - neither of these things detract in any way to what i find an exceptionally lovely portrait <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />
